Job Description: Lead Barista + Sales Associate (Part-Time)

Fulton Moto is looking for a dedicated, experienced barista to help lead and grow our espresso bar while also supporting retail sales in our motorcycle gear showroom.

This role is ideal for someone who takes serious pride in craft coffee, enjoys engaging with people, and wants to be part of a unique community centered around motorcycles, coffee, and culture.

Our espresso bar sits inside Fulton Moto, a destination motorcycle shop and community hub in downtown Culpeper. You'll be helping shape the coffee experience while interacting with riders, travelers, and locals who stop in every day.

Who You Are

An experienced barista who cares deeply about coffee quality, workflow, and consistency.

Comfortable dialing in espresso, adjusting grind, producing consistent and high quality latte art, and maintaining high standards throughout service.

Someone who enjoys creating memorable guest experiences, conversation, and community.

Organized, calm under pressure, and able to maintain great service during busy moments.

Interested in motorcycles, gear, and the culture around them (riding experience is great but not required).

A person who values thoughtful hospitality and helping guests feel genuinely welcome.

What You’ll Do

Espresso Bar & Coffee Program

Prepare high-quality espresso drinks with consistency and attention to detail.

Dial in espresso and maintain grind calibration throughout service.

Operate and care for professional equipment (La Marzocco machine, grinders, etc.).

Maintain a clean, efficient, and well-organized coffee workspace.

Help refine and grow the espresso program as Fulton Moto evolves.

Ensure every coffee served reflects quality and pride in craft.

Retail & Guest Experience

Welcome guests into the shop and create a friendly, engaging environment.

Assist customers with motorcycle gear, apparel, and lifestyle products.

Learn key product knowledge including materials, safety ratings, and brand stories.

Process sales, returns, and maintain a clean retail environment.

Help maintain the overall vibe and experience of the shop.

Community & Event Support

Participate in the Fulton Moto ecosystem including:

• Bikes & Coffee meetups
• Workshops and tech nights
• Brand launches and special events

Support guests during events through coffee service, retail assistance, and hospitality.

Represent the Fulton Moto ethos: friendly, knowledgeable, and community-driven.

Compensation

Base hourly pay: Based on experience.

Tips: Full share of espresso bar tips.

Sales Commission: Small commission on retail sales.

Opportunity for increased responsibility as the espresso program and business expand.

Qualities We’re Looking For

Strong barista experience preferred (specialty coffee background is a plus).

Comfortable operating professional espresso equipment.

Customer-focused with strong hospitality instincts.

Able to work weekends and occasional evenings for events.

Positive attitude, reliability, and strong team mindset.
